The Differences Between Wooden and Plastic Chopping Boards for the Kitchen

However, wooden boards are not dishwasher-safe and will need to be treated with care and carefully hand-washed. The larger sizes can also be heavy, which may be less appealing for some cooks.

Plastic chopping boards are generally better to use when cutting meat and fish, but they can also be used to chop a variety of other food including fruit and vegetables, as well as bread. Plastic chopping boards are less thick than wooden boards too, which means they take up less space in the kitchen. They are easy to clean too and can be safely added to the dishwasher.
