We analysed the UK’s 30 most populated cities, giving each a normalised score out of ten on the following factors. We then combined these for a total score out of 100 (weighted as below):

The percentage of the town/city’s restaurants that have been awarded a Michelin star, according to Great British Chefs
% of AA Rosette Restaurants – 25%
The percentage of the town/city’s restaurants that have been awarded an AA Rosette, according to the AA
Variety – (40%)
Restaurants per 10,000 People – 8%
Number of restaurants listed on TripAdvisor per 10,000 population.
Types of Cuisine – 8%
Number of different types of cuisine listed on TripAdvisor
% of Vegan/Vegetarian Restaurants – 8%
% of Fine Dining Restaurants – 8%
% of Street Food Options – 8%
Each taken from TripAdvisor and shown as a percentage of the town/city’s total restaurants.
