This high carbon, chrome molybdenum vanadium steel blade is easy to sharpen and retains an edge longer than most other knives. The design has been simplified by eliminating the bolster (a metal strip that supports the blade) and by making the blade thinner near the handle. This creates a lighter knife that is more comfortable to use for prolonged periods of time with little hand or arm stress. It also features a beautiful pakkawood handle that looks like wood and lasts much longer than traditional handles.
