Knife Sharpening Service from the Sharpening Shed.
We are masters at knife repair. Services include sharpening, thinning, re-profiling. Our workshop is the result of decades of experience as knife smiths. True craftsmanship, exceptional skill, and attention to detail make us the trusted choice to sharpen your knives. We know the correct angle to apply to your knife when sharpening as well. For Western Style Japanese Knives a 10-16 degrees depending on steel quality and kind of grind and for German and other non-Japanese knives, 17-20 degrees on the final edge, depending on the quality and type of knife.

When it comes to knives there is nothing we cannot sharpen. We also sharpen serrated bread knives, serrated steak knives, single bevel Japanese blades, Damascus steel knives at no extra cost.
What we do not sharpen: electric bread knife blades, tailor shears, DIY or garden tools, food processor blades, farrier hooks or blades, ceramic or plastic bladed knives, meat cleavers wider than 100mm, chisels, nail clippers, or animal grooming blades.
Each knife is assessed independently on its return to us and whilst we will always try our best with chips, damaged tips, bent blades and twisted blades, in some instances we may either not be able to help get the best out of the knife or there may be an additional charge due to the work required. In both these circumstances our team will reach out to ask how you wish to proceed.
